Published distances for Wulong vary, and it is worth knowing why: the Chongqing municipal records office puts the Wulong Karst tourist area at 129 km from the city, but that figure is measured to the county town and motorway exit, not up to the scenic area gate. The 170-180 km above is the door-to-gate driving distance our vehicles actually cover. The gate ticket for the Three Natural Bridges is 70 yuan in peak season and 40 yuan from November to February on Wulong District's 2026 list of A-grade scenic areas. The park shuttle and the lift down into the valley are charged on top, so the full adult ticket comes to 155 yuan in peak season and 125 in the off-season. Checked October 2026.

Day trip from Chongqing: car or high-speed train
By private car: about 2.5 to 3 hours each way. Allow about 2 hours at the Three Natural Bridges and about 2 hours at Longshui Gorge. Leave at 7:00 and you are back at Jiefangbei around 20:00, in time for the lights at Hongya Cave.
By high-speed train: since 27 June 2025, trains run from Chongqing East to Wulong South, fastest about 39 minutes, second class a little over 80 yuan. From the station, take a taxi to the scenic area's visitor centre. Private cars can't drive into the scenic area, so you ride the park shuttle, and its fare is already in the ticket. Several trains return to Chongqing East in the early evening. From September to April the scenic areas close at 16:30, so start early.
Fairy Mountain: it is a separate scenic area, and seeing it on the same day as the bridges and the gorge is rushed. Stay a night in Wulong and go the next morning.
Tickets and hours: Longshui Gorge is 105 yuan (85 from November to February), including the park shuttle and lift. Fairy Mountain is 50 yuan. The bridges, the gorge and Furong Cave open 8:30–16:30 from September to April, until 17:00 in May, and 8:00–17:00 from June to August.
